Sindh Govt Launches Second Phase of Pink Scooty Scheme for Women

The Sindh government has officially launched the second phase of the Pink Scooty Scheme to enhance women’s mobility and independence across the province. The initiative, announced by Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, aims to empower working women and female students by providing them with pink scooters, free driving training, and licences.

Speaking at the launch, Memon encouraged women to actively register for the programme and obtain their driving licences.

“The Sindh government wants more women to benefit from this facility and continue their educational and professional journeys with safety and dignity,” he said.

The first phase of the Pink Scooty Project had received a strong public response, with many women successfully completing training and adopting scooters for daily travel. The initiative complements other public transport projects like the People’s Bus Service, Pink Bus Service, and Electric Bus Service, aimed at providing affordable and safe commuting options.

Sharjeel Memon emphasized that women’s empowerment remains central to the Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) philosophy, calling the scheme a continuation of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto’s vision for gender equality and mobility freedom in Pakistan.
