Sindh Educational Boards To Get E Marking System

The Universities and Boards Department Sindh has announced a new grading system for matric and intermediate students, which will take effect from the next academic year. The updated system will replace traditional marks and percentages with grades to evaluate students’ performance more fairly.

According to the department, results will now be declared in grades instead of total marks, while the passing percentage has been raised from 33 to 40 percent. The move is part of ongoing efforts to modernize academic evaluation standards in Sindh’s education system.

Under the new grading criteria, students securing between 50 and 59 percent will receive a D grade, while those scoring 60 to 69 percent will be given a C grade. A B grade will be awarded for 70 to 74 percent, a B+ for 75 to 79 percent, and a B++ for 80 to 84 percent.

Similarly, students obtaining 85 to 89 percent will receive an A grade, while 90 to 94 percent will be marked as A+. The highest distinction, A++, will be awarded to students achieving between 95 and 100 percent.

The department stated that this new grading system for matric and intermediate students has been designed in accordance with international academic practices. The goal is to ensure a transparent, uniform, and fair assessment framework across educational boards, allowing students’ performance to be evaluated more holistically.
