The Sindh Education Department has introduced a facial recognition-based attendance system for all teaching and non-teaching staff across the province, making registration mandatory for employees in government schools.
According to the department, the registration process using facial recognition technology will take place during June and July. From August onward, all staff members will be required to mark daily check-in and check-out attendance through the new digital system.
Officials said the initiative aims to improve transparency, ensure punctuality, and strengthen monitoring of school staff attendance across Sindh.
The department has also issued a strict warning that employees who fail to complete their biometric registration within the given deadline will face salary suspension.
Under the new policy, the attendance system will be directly integrated with the AG Sindh Treasury system. It also specifies that more than two leaves in a month will be treated as excessive leave, which may affect payroll calculations.
Officials further stated that salary deductions will be automatically applied in cases of late arrival or unapproved absence, reducing manual intervention and improving accountability.
The Sindh Education Department has directed all employees to complete registration on time and adhere to attendance rules to avoid financial penalties under the new system.
