Sindh Lifts Ban on Government Jobs, Launches Digital Hiring System

The Sindh government has officially lifted the ban on hiring for Grade 5 to Grade 15 positions, allowing departments to begin recruitment as per rules and regulations. A formal notification has been issued to all concerned offices to proceed with the process immediately.

This development follows the launch of the Sindh Job Portal (SJP) by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on October 28 in Karachi, making Sindh the first province in Pakistan to introduce a centralized online platform for transparent government job applications.

The Sindh Job Portal, developed by the Science and Information Technology Department in collaboration with Sukkur IBA University, enables candidates to register, upload documents, and apply for vacancies across departments efficiently.

Chief Minister Shah stated,

“This initiative fulfills the vision of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto for equal and transparent employment opportunities across Sindh.”

He added that recruitment for Grade 1–5 posts would begin within fifteen days, with higher-grade positions to follow soon through the same system.

The portal also offers online test scheduling, instant results, and integration with the Finance Department to avoid administrative delays  a major step toward digital governance and merit-based hiring in Sindh.
