Sindh Limits Government Employees’ Unnecessary Social Media Access

The Sindh government has prohibited all public institutions from using social media without a valid reason. Additionally, government employees and officers are strictly banned from recording videos while on duty.
The order was issued by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, and the new policy was formally announced to be enforced. Any government employee discovered engaging in official business on social media will be subject to severe disciplinary action, as stated in the notice.
Under the Chief Minister’s directive, the Chief Secretary and the Inspector General of Sindh Police are to guarantee strict adherence to the policy.
The warning states that the agency would take action if employees continue to upload images and videos taken from government buildings, vehicles, and while wearing official uniforms.
Also, no employee or officer may use their official account to discuss private issues on social media. The official code of conduct states that it is a violation to post photos of government properties or uniforms online.
