The Sindh Education Department has directed all schools to collect free textbooks from students following the completion of annual examinations. The move aims to ensure proper inventory management and availability of textbooks for future students.
A spokesperson for the provincial education department stated that the return of textbooks must be recorded on students’ result cards, and schools are required to maintain a detailed log of issued and returned books.
All collected books are to be stored securely in school book banks to protect them for subsequent academic sessions.
The department has instructed schools to collect textbooks from all students, from primary to higher secondary levels, and District Education Officers are required to submit stock records to Regional Directors for accountability.
