SPEL Limited, a leading manufacturer of plastic products in Pakistan, has successfully completed a 575 KW solar power project, marking a major step in the company’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives. This new addition brings the company’s total solar energy capacity to 4.125 MW, complementing the previously installed 3.55 MW of green energy.
With this project, SPEL now sources approximately 24%-29% of its annual electricity needs from clean, renewable sources, reinforcing its dedication to sustainable practices. Company officials stated that the initiative is part of ongoing efforts to contribute to a greener, cleaner Pakistan.
SPEL Limited, formerly Synthetic Products Enterprises Limited, was incorporated in 1982 and converted into a public limited company in 2008, later listing on the Pakistan Stock Exchange in 2015. The company specializes in the manufacturing and sale of plastic auto parts, food and FMCG packaging, and moulds & dies, while now integrating renewable energy into its operational strategy.
