Spotify Now Supports Transferring Playlists From Other Music Apps

Spotify is finally adding a feature that many music fans have wanted for years. The company is rolling out native playlist transfers, a tool that lets users move their existing playlists from rival platforms directly into Spotify. The option arrives through a formal partnership with TuneMyMusic, a service that has handled cross-platform playlist transfers for a long time.

Spotify’s integration does not replace TuneMyMusic. Instead, it brings the transfer process into the Spotify app and makes it easier to use. The system only supports imports. Users still cannot move their Spotify playlists to other services, and the company has given no hint that exports will be allowed.

How to Import Playlists into Spotify:

  • Open the Spotify mobile app
  • Go to Your Library
  • Scroll to the bottom
  • Tap “Import your music.”
  • Connect to TuneMyMusic when prompted
  • Choose the competing platform that holds your playlists
  • Select the playlists you want to transfer
  • Start the import with no limits on playlist or song count

Spotify says the feature is rolling out globally in the coming days. Therefore, users who do not see the option yet should expect it to appear soon.
