Steady Cotton Rates Observed Across Major Pakistani Provinces

Pakistan’s cotton market stayed steady on Saturday as prices in Sindh, Punjab and Balochistan held firm despite low trading activity. The latest data shows stable rates for cotton, Phutti and Primark varieties, offering a calm outlook for growers and traders.

Market analysts say cotton prices have been moving within a controlled range for several days, reflecting balanced supply and demand conditions across major producing regions.

In Sindh, new cotton traded between Rs.14,500 and Rs.16,000 per maund, while Phutti prices remained steady at Rs.6,000 to Rs.7,600 per 40 kg. Punjab’s cotton ranged from Rs.14,800 to Rs.16,000, with Phutti trading between Rs.6,000 and Rs.7,800.

Balochistan also maintained strong price levels, with cotton at Rs.15,300 to Rs.16,200 and Phutti at Rs.7,800 to Rs.8,800 per 40 kg. Balochi cotton fetched between Rs.15,800 and Rs.16,200, while Primark cotton held firm at Rs.16,700 to Rs.16,900 per maund.

Spot cotton remained unchanged at Rs.15,300 per maund, and polyester fiber continued at Rs.325 per kg. According to analyst Naseem Usman, “prices are stable, but overall market activity is still slow,” adding that traders are waiting for clearer demand signals from the textile sector.

The stable trend indicates cautious buying but no major price swings, keeping the market in a holding pattern as the season progresses.
