Strategy has purchased another 1,665 Bitcoin for approximately $142.7 million, taking its total Bitcoin holdings to 847,666 BTC.
According to a September 28 filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the company acquired the Bitcoin at an average price of $85,681 per coin between Monday and Sunday.
Strategy has now spent approximately $63.95 billion on its Bitcoin holdings, including fees and expenses, at an average purchase price of $75,437 per Bitcoin.
The latest purchase was funded through the sale of Strategy’s MSTR common shares. The company sold around 1.47 million shares and generated $246.2 million in net proceeds. Of this amount, $142.7 million was used to buy Bitcoin, while the remaining funds were allocated to repurchase STRC preferred stock.
Strategy repurchased around 1.53 million STRC shares for $151.7 million, with an additional $48.1 million coming from its US dollar cash balance.
The company’s USD Cash balance declined to $1 billion from $1.05 billion following the STRC repurchases. Its separate US dollar reserve, maintained for preferred stock dividends and debt interest, fell slightly to $5.02 billion from $5.04 billion after $22.1 million in dividend payments.
The latest purchase follows Strategy’s acquisition of 950 Bitcoin for $75.7 million the previous week, after a two-week pause in its Bitcoin buying activity.
