Mobile World Congress often sets the tone for upcoming smartphone trends, and Tecno seems to be leaning heavily into battery upgrades this year. While some of its latest devices are still not official, early certifications are already revealing key details about what users can expect.
The Tecno Pova 8 first appeared during the Barcelona showcase in early March. However, the company has not formally launched it yet. Now, a fresh TUV listing confirms one major upgrade. The phone carries a 7,750 mAh battery. This is a big jump from its predecessor, which offered a 6,000 mAh cell.
At the same time, Tecno has already released the Tecno Spark 50 5G in late March. Still, the Tecno Spark 50 Pro has not arrived yet. Recent TUV certification sheds light on this model as well. It packs a 5,800 mAh battery. While this is smaller than the Pova 8, it still improves over the Spark 40 Pro, which features a 5,200 mAh unit.
These upgrades suggest a clear direction. Tecno is focusing on longer battery life across its lineup. The company is using Si/C technology to increase battery capacity without making devices bulky. As a result, users can expect better endurance.
Moreover, this shift could benefit heavy users the most. Tasks like gaming and streaming demand more power. With these larger batteries, both devices should handle such usage more easily. Overall, battery life may no longer be a concern for most users this year.
