Telenor Easy Shops will facilitate orders for Daraz.pk in far flung areas of the country

Telecom company, Telenor and Daraz, an ecommerce giant, have entered into an agreement for the facilitation and promotion ecommerce in Pakistan. According to the partnership, Telenor Easy Shops will have a wide assortment of items from Daraz’s website.

With this collaborative effort by the two companies, people in areas with low broadband connectivity will be brought into the ecommerce sphere through Telenor’s Easy Shops.

Speaking on the occasion, Irfan Wahab Khan, Deputy CEO and CMO Telenor Pakistan, said,

“Being a customer-centric company with innovation at the heart of its operations, Telenor Pakistan has been taking major steps towards realizing its mission of a digital Pakistan. Easy Shops has emerged as one of the fastest growing retail channel for Telecom, handsets, Digital and Financial Services and as boundaries between online and offline worlds are blurring this partnership will open unparalleled opportunities for Telenor customers. The collaboration adds more to what Easy Shops deliver to our customers as they can learn about online shopping and book and pay for Daraz.pk products in a convenient manner”.

Sharing his thoughts on the development, Bjarke Mikkelsen, Co-CEO at Daraz Asia, said,

“We have joined hands once again with Telenor Pakistan as we seek to share our common strengths and experiences to effectively pursue the shared mission of providing a sustainable model for ease and promotion of e-commerce in the country. This collaboration between Telenor and Daraz will definitely develop digital infrastructure and awareness in previously unconnected and distant parts of the nation, as we plan to expand this project to the entire network of 550 Easy Shops in the country. As a result, everyone will have equal opportunities to be part of the growth Pakistan is set to experience.”

The project initiates development of 20 pilot shops and hopes to grow throughout the nation, connecting distant places where e-commerce is still a relatively unknown concept and access to urban shopping centers is limited. Telenor customer, who visits Easy Shop, will be able to browse products available on Daraz.pk and place an order right away. Easy Shops will receive the payments and process the order which will be delivered to the customer at the designated address in a smooth and hassle-free way.
