Bank Deposits Made Easier with NADRA’s New Service

The National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) has unveiled its latest innovation, the Nadra non-chip ID card, offering smart features while removing the chip to make the card more affordable for citizens.

According to an official announcement, the new Nadra non-chip ID card displays bilingual information in English and Urdu, ensuring consistency across national databases and aligning with international travel documents like passports.

One of the key enhancements is the inclusion of a QR code, allowing users to digitally verify their identity through the Pak ID mobile application. This new feature aims to simplify and expedite identity authentication across various platforms.

Special Features for Donors and Persons with Disabilities

Nadra has also introduced unique elements for particular citizen groups. Organ donors will have a distinctive symbol added to their ID card, and their cards will carry lifetime validity. Likewise, persons with disabilities will receive a special marker on their Nadra non-chip ID card, with their cards also valid for life, offering additional convenience.

Individuals applying for card renewal, modification, or replacing a lost ID now have the option to choose the non-chip variant. This new offering retains essential security features while providing a more budget-friendly alternative to the traditional chip-based cards.

Fee Structure and Processing Timelines

The fee schedule for the Nadra non-chip ID card has been set based on processing speed:

  • Normal processing costs Rs400 with delivery in 31 days.
  • Urgent processing is priced at Rs1,150 for a 15-day delivery.
  • Executive processing costs Rs2,150 with a 9-day delivery timeframe.

Additionally, first-time applicants who reach 18 years of age can obtain their Nadra non-chip ID card free of charge under the normal processing category.
