TikTok Officially Launches “Bulletin Board” for Creators

Quality creators on TikTok with 50,000 or more followers now have access to a new broadcast tool called Bulletin Board. This feature allows creators to post text, images or videos to a subscribed audience. Followers who opt in receive updates directly in their inbox, making it easier to stay connected and informed.

Bulletin Board functions similarly to Instagram’s Broadcast Channels, and has been tested by musicians, media publishers, and sports clubs before its full launch this week. Profiles that qualify can create a board from their Inbox, choose whether the board appears on their profile, assign a name and description, and begin posting.

By joining a creator’s board, followers will get notified when new content is posted and can react with emojis, though full comments and replies are not supported.

This update addresses a growing trend in social-media creator monetisation and direct audience engagement. With short-form algorithms dominating feeds, creators increasingly seek channels that offer targeted and reliable communication with subscribers rather than hoping for viral reach. Bulletin Board gives them a dedicated broadcast channel to:

  • Share news, product drops or live stream alerts with a committed sub-group of followers
  • Offer exclusive or early-access content without crowding their main feed
  • Build a sense of community similar to newsletter or chat-app groups, but within TikTok

For TikTok, the feature strengthens its creator ecosystem, building loyalty and engagement in a competitive market where platforms fight over creator time and monetisation options. It also provides a new space for brands and creators to deliver updates and promotions to high-intent followers, complementing TikTok’s growing commerce offerings.

Eligible creators can enable Bulletin Board from their inbox menu, then add a name and description. They decide whether to display it publicly on their profile. Followers tap the board name under the creator’s bio to join. Once subscribed, updates are sent to their inbox where they can react. The feature supports text, images and videos, but not full comment threads. Also, standard community-guideline and moderation tools apply, including muting, blocking and reporting.

While available now to creators aged 18+ with 50,000 or more followers, wider rollout may follow based on uptake and performance. Initial use cases show music artists dropped new tracks, publishers used the board for news updates and sports teams engaged with top fans. As the feature matures we may see product launches, exclusive deals or livestream previews become common.
