United Arab Emirates has announced its preparations for Eid ul Fitr, including prayer timings and guidelines for worshippers. Authorities have confirmed that Eid prayers will be offered only in designated mosques, with no arrangements in open grounds this year.
The first day of Eid is expected to fall on Thursday or Friday, depending on the sighting of the Shawwal moon. Officials say all arrangements are being put in place to ensure that the occasion passes smoothly and safely across the country.
Eid Prayer Timings
Eid prayers will be held early in the morning across all seven emirates:
- Abu Dhabi: 6:20am
- Dubai: 6:18am
- Sharjah: 6:16am
- Ajman: 6:16am
- Umm Al Quwain: 6:12am
- Ras Al Khaimah: 6:12am
- Fujairah: 6:10am
Authorities have emphasized that prayers will be limited to approved mosques, with volunteers deployed to manage crowds and ensure smooth entry and exit.
Fitrana Details
The UAE Council for Fatwa has set the Fitrana amount for this year:
- Amount: Dh25 per person
- Equivalent: Around 2.5 kilograms of rice
- Payment options: Cash or food (rice)
- Who pays: Head of the household on behalf of all dependents
- Deadline: Before Eid prayer
