The UAE has rolled out a fresh wave of visa reforms for Pakistani travelers, introducing faster digital processing, e-visas without passport stamping, and a dedicated visa center. Officials say nearly 500 applications are now handled each day, creating a smoother path for business travelers and visitors.
The updated policy was confirmed during a meeting between UAE Ambassador H. E. Salem AlBawab Al Zaabi and Pakistan’s Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb in Islamabad.
“Ambassador Al Zaabi noted that both countries share decades of cooperation shaped by trade, culture, and the contributions of Pakistani professionals working in the UAE. He said his priority is to strengthen strategic, economic, and cultural partnerships.”
Aurangzeb welcomed the reforms and said improved mobility would encourage greater trade and investment. He added that easier travel would support stronger business-to-business engagement. He also thanked the UAE for its steady support across remittances, government financing, and global economic coordination.
The two officials also reviewed plans to expand economic cooperation. Their discussion covered potential UAE investments in ports, digital banking, logistics, and infrastructure, along with emerging sectors such as IT, AI, fintech, agriculture, and education. Ambassador Al Zaabi said he aims to draw more Pakistani companies to the UAE and attract Emirati investors to Pakistan.
Defense ties were also part of the meeting. Both sides reviewed training exchanges and long-standing military cooperation. The officials agreed to push for deeper collaboration across trade, technology, investment, and defense as the partnership enters a new phase.
