Ubisoft appears ready to break its silence. Recent leaks suggest the publisher is preparing major announcements for two of its most requested projects:
While Ubisoft officially confirmed the Prince of Persia remake for 2026, the studio has remained quiet regarding Black Flag. However, new evidence suggests reveals are happening sooner rather than later.
The long-awaited Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake seems ready for the spotlight. According to prominent leaker Zephryss, the game’s official website is now fully prepared for a public launch. Between December 31, 2025, and January 13, 2026, Ubisoft uploaded significant content to the domain. This includes approximately 40 files featuring images, in-game screenshots, PNGs, ratings, and fonts.
Consequently, rumours heavily suggest a January launch. Speculation indicates Ubisoft might “shadow-drop” the game alongside its official reveal. This aligns with Ubisoft’s previous confirmation of a 2026 release window for the title.
Evidence for a pirate-themed return is also mounting. Leaker Zephryss noted that Ubisoft has started re-uploading original Assassin’s Creed Black Flag music to YouTube. Furthermore, fans discovered that Ubisoft registered a domain for “Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced” at the start of January.
This project is currently gaming’s “worst-kept secret”. Reports suggest the remake will include cut content from the original game. Additionally, voice actor Matt Ryan (Edward Kenway) faced a threatened lawsuit after making playful comments about the project, which many viewed as an accidental confirmation. Currently, speculation points to a release near the end of the fiscal year in March, filling the slot of a previously mentioned “unannounced title”.
Beyond these remakes, Ubisoft has a busy schedule for 2026. The Tom Clancy brand remains a priority, with Rainbow Six Mobile launching in February and The Division 3 in development.
The Assassin’s Creed franchise also expands beyond Black Flag. Assassin’s Creed Jade is in the works for mobile. Meanwhile, Assassin’s Creed Hexe promises a darker tone. Teased in 2022, Hexe reportedly centres on Germanic witch trials in the 1600s and features a female protagonist. With these projects on the horizon, 2026 looks to be a pivotal year for Ubisoft.
