Unidentified attackers blew up a 132-KV electricity transmission tower in Nasirabad, cutting power supply to Bolan and several other areas, police and Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) officials confirmed.
Police said the explosion targeted the tower late in the area and triggered an immediate breakdown in electricity supply across the region. QESCO confirmed the incident and said the damaged transmission line was responsible for supplying electricity from Sibi to Bolan.
Officials said the disruption has affected thousands of consumers in the areas dependent on this line. Police said an investigation into the attack has been launched to identify those responsible and determine the motive behind the incident.
QESCO said its relief and technical teams have been dispatched to the affected site to begin repair work. Officials said restoration efforts are underway and supply is expected to resume once the damaged tower is repaired.
