The Pakistani rupee (PKR) continued its strong performance against the US Dollar (USD) on Thursday, marking its 113th consecutive day of gains in the interbank market.
The local currency closed at Rs279.41 against the dollar, gaining one paisa during today’s trading session. Despite the modest increase, the rupee maintained its long-running upward trend against the greenback.
Performance Against Other Currencies
During the session, the rupee showed mixed performance against other major currencies. It lost one paisa against the UAE Dirham (AED) and remained slightly weaker against the Saudi Riyal (SAR).
However, the rupee gained 71 paisas against the British Pound (GBP) and 30 paisas against the Euro (EUR), reflecting positive movement against some major European currencies.
Meanwhile, the local currency lost 10 paisas against the Australian Dollar (AUD) and 15 paisas against the Canadian Dollar (CAD).

Despite minor fluctuations against some currencies, the rupee’s sustained rally against the US dollar continues to be a notable trend in Pakistan’s foreign exchange market.
