The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Islamabad has announced that Uzbekistan Airways will now operate additional flights to Pakistan, enhancing air connectivity between the two countries. The move reduces travel time between Islamabad and Tashkent to just two hours, eliminating the need for layovers in Dubai that previously made the journey longer and more costly.
According to an embassy official, the decision to double flight frequency was driven by high passenger demand, as flights to Islamabad were consistently operating at full capacity. The airline will now operate four weekly flights two on the Tashkent Islamabad route every Tuesday and Saturday, and two on the Tashkent–Lahore route every Wednesday and Friday.
A spokesperson for Uzbekistan Airways stated,
“The expansion aims to make travel between the two nations faster, more convenient, and affordable, encouraging tourism, education, and trade opportunities.”
Ticket prices start from $200 one-way and $400 round-trip, offering competitive options for travelers. The new flight schedule is expected to significantly boost business and tourism ties between Pakistan and Uzbekistan, reflecting the growing bilateral cooperation in trade, transport, and cultural exchange.
