Vivo S50 Pro Mini may Ditch MediaTek for Snapdragon Chipset

Vivo is preparing to launch its next S-series lineup, the Vivo S50 series, which is expected to include the S50 Pro and S50 Pro mini. The new models will follow the S30 lineup that debuted in May 2025, bringing several upgrades in performance and design.

The vivo S50 Pro mini will skip the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chipset and instead use Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC. This change signals vivo’s focus on pushing the compact flagship segment to new performance levels.

The device will reportedly feature a 6.31-inch flat display with 1.5K resolution, offering sharp visuals in a small form factor. It is also rumored to pack a battery larger than the Vivo X300’s 6,040 mAh cell, suggesting improved endurance and faster charging capabilities.

Meanwhile, the vivo S50 Pro is expected to feature a 6.59-inch display paired with a metal frame for a more premium feel. Reports also point to a periscope telephoto camera, which would enhance the phone’s optical zoom and photography performance.

According to recent leaks, the vivo S30 Pro mini was introduced globally as the vivo X200 FE, indicating that the upcoming S50 Pro mini might debut internationally under the vivo X300 FE branding.

The vivo S50 series appears ready to continue the brand’s strategy of merging sleek design with flagship-grade performance, especially for users who prefer compact yet powerful smartphones.
