WhatsApp to Introduce ‘Guest’ Feature for Chat Events
WhatsApp is expanding its upcoming Chat Events feature with a new “Guest” functionality, aimed at enhancing event management within private conversations. While the platform has been working on integrating events into individual chats, recent developments indicate a broader vision for this tool.
Chat Events, which have been beneficial for organizing meetings and establishing reminders within group discussions, will soon be accessible in private communications. The introduction of the “Guest” feature indicates that users may have the capability to invite external participants or to administer event access with greater efficiency.
In the Android beta version 2.25.3.17, it has been observed that WhatsApp is developing a ‘Guest’ feature intended for conversation events. The feature is presently accessible to a select group of beta evaluators.
The visitor feature in the conversation events will enable users to invite guests to participate in the events. In straightforward terms, individuals who receive a ‘event invitation’ within their conversations or groups will have the opportunity to bring a companion and notify the event organizer of their attendance in advance.
Users may easily accept or deny the presence of an extra visitor. Only the event creator will be able to activate or disable the guest option before scheduling the event. If the function is deactivated, it will indicate that no extra guests are permitted in the event.
The feature adds to the growth of the social network and ensures that more people are informed about a specific issue. The functionality is currently being tested in the Beta Program and will be released shortly.
