WhatsApp is making group chats smarter with three new features designed to keep conversations organized and engaging. Starting today, users can assign member roles, create custom text stickers, and set reminders for events directly inside groups. These updates aim to make large or busy groups easier to navigate while giving users more control over how they interact.
The first feature, Member Tags, lets users label themselves with a role or identifier in a group. Each tag can be customized for different groups, helping members quickly see who is responsible for what. This is especially useful in larger groups where clarity is key.
Next, WhatsApp is expanding sticker options with Text Stickers. Users can turn any word or phrase into a sticker through the Sticker Search feature. These stickers can be added to personal packs immediately, without needing to send them in a chat first, making it simpler to use and share custom stickers.
Finally, event reminders improve group planning. When a user creates an event, they can set early reminders for participants. This ensures everyone gets timely notifications, reducing the chances of missing important group activities.
