WhatsApp is introducing several new features to make group chats easier to manage. The update brings an @all tag, more useful poll options, and a faster way to create a new group from an existing chat.
The messaging platform has also improved its poll feature. Users can now edit poll questions within 15 minutes after creating them. In addition, they can set a deadline for the poll. Once the selected time ends, voting will automatically close.
WhatsApp is also adding a privacy option for polls. Users can choose to hide voter names, allowing group members to share their opinions more comfortably.
Another useful addition is the new @all tag. Instead of mentioning each member one by one, users can notify everyone in the group with a single tag. However, there is one limitation. In groups with more than 32 members, only group admins can use the @all tag.
The company is also making it easier to start separate conversations. Group members can now create a new group chat directly from an existing one with just one tap.
According to WhatsApp, this feature is useful when people want to plan a surprise party, organize an event, or continue a discussion without filling the main group chat with extra messages.
WhatsApp says these new group chat features will roll out to all users over the coming weeks. Users should update the app to the latest version from their app store to get the new features as they become available.
