WhatsApp’s New Update Allows Users to Share 90-Second Long Video Statuses

WhatsApp is rolling out a highly anticipated feature in its latest beta update for Android, version 2.25.12.9, now available via the Google Play Beta Program. According to reports from WABetaInfo, this update introduces support for video status updates of up to 90 seconds, a significant increase from the previous 60-second limit.

The feature is currently being rolled out gradually and is available only to some beta testers. Users who receive the update will be able to upload longer video clips directly to their status without needing to split them into smaller parts.

“This feature builds on last year’s update, which extended video statuses from 30 to 60 seconds and was widely praised by users for its convenience. Now, with a 90-second limit, WhatsApp is pushing the envelope once again,” said a spokesperson familiar with the development.

This enhancement is part of WhatsApp’s ongoing effort to improve user experience and support more expressive, uninterrupted content sharing. Users are capable of incorporating lengthier and more captivating video recordings into a single status update without needing to divide or trim them.

The beta testers who were granted early access to the feature can evaluate its functionality by uploading recordings that exceed 60 seconds in duration. The video upload is considered complete when the feature permits the full video duration, which is indicated in the reduction interface by the new 1 minute and 30 second limit.

It’s important to note that while the update is officially compatible with version 2.25.12.9, not all users will have immediate access. WhatsApp is enabling the feature in phases, and more users are expected to gain access in the coming weeks.
