Everstone Studio is ending 2025 on a high note. Just ahead of the New Year, the developer has released a comprehensive content roadmap for Where Winds Meet for January 2026. Since its launch on November 14 and its expansion to mobile devices in December, the free-to-play MMO has maintained a healthy player base. Consequently, Everstone is pushing forward with an aggressive weekly update schedule to keep the momentum going.
Here is everything coming to Where Winds Meet in January 2026.
The action kicks off immediately on January 4. Players can increase their World Level to 10 (Solo Play Level). This milestone is crucial as reaching Level 10 unlocks “Unbound”. Additionally, fans of endgame content will receive Hero’s Realm: Sorrow of Mortalbound, a challenging 10-person activity.
Subsequently, January 8 marks the arrival of Version 1.2. This major update introduces the Kaifeng Campaign and adds new Legacy Quests. Combat enthusiasts also have fresh challenges ahead. A new World Boss, the Nameless General, enters the fray alongside the limited-time “Jianghu Martial Games” event.
Mid-January focuses on competitive play and exploration. Starting in Week 3, players can test their wits in Mistveil Prison, a new Puzzle Cave.
However, the highlight for many competitive groups arrives on January 16. Everstone Studio is launching the Guild Battle Preseason, featuring large-scale 30v30 Guild vs. Guild battles.
Shortly after, on January 22, the game world expands yet again. A new region, the Nine Mortal Ways Base, will be available for exploration. Unlike the massive Roaring Sands region added in December, this new area appears to be smaller and instance-based.
The month concludes with narrative progression and celebration. On January 25, a new story chapter titled Whispers Beneath the Moon unlocks.
Finally, on January 29, two special events begin:
These events align with the Chinese New Year. Speculation suggests these will resemble the January 2025 event, potentially offering cosmetic gear, mini-games, and unique activities.
This roadmap follows a highly successful December for Everstone Studio. The developer recently expanded the world by over a third with the Roaring Sands update, introduced the Scarlet Shock Sword Trial, and added the Blazing Gale Dance co-op raid. With cross-play and cross-progression fully active across PC, PS5, and mobile, January 2026 looks to be another busy month for the Where Winds Meet community.
