A fast growing Pakistani wedding startup Shadiyana has secured $800,000 in pre seed funding, a move expected to accelerate the digital transformation of the country’s sprawling Rs 900 billion wedding industry. The investment, led by Indus Valley Capital (IVC), comes as the platform rapidly expands its footprint from Islamabad to Lahore and Karachi.
With more than 500,000 users, 600+ registered vendors, and 30,000 weddings planned, the startup is now positioning itself as Pakistan’s first fully structured, tech enabled solution for wedding planning.
Co-founders Neelam Shoaib and Izzah Zaman say their mission is driven by personal experience and a desire to repair what they describe as a beautiful yet inefficient ecosystem.
“We get a rush from every new booking,” Neelam said, reflecting on how her own family’s struggles during a wedding revealed the urgent need for a more streamlined system.
Izzah added that despite societal expectations to pursue safe careers, their passion for building products pushed them toward entrepreneurship:
“We loved losing ourselves in the process of creating something meaningful.”
As women, engineers, and industry outsiders, the founders say their fresh perspective helped them rethink the industry from the ground up.
The startup has recently launched Pakistan’s first full wedding planning app, enabling couples to discover, book, and manage wedding vendors from anywhere, with real time access to tools, pricing, and support.
According to Indus Valley Capital’s Managing Partner Aatif Awan, the platform is bringing “order, transparency, and trust” to one of Pakistan’s biggest but most underserved sectors. He praised the founders’
“customer obsession and strong founder market fit.”
The company is now preparing for scale, with plans to:
With millions of weddings celebrated annually and a rapidly urbanizing customer base, the startup aims to become Pakistan’s leading digital hub for wedding services.
