Xiaomi Poco has officially launched its new F8 series in Bali, Indonesia, unveiling the F8 Ultra and F8 Pro. Both phones bring high-end performance, premium displays, and enhanced audio tuned by Bose. The series is positioned to challenge other flagship devices with its cutting-edge specifications and aggressive pricing.
The Poco F8 Ultra leads the lineup with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, paired with the VisionBoost D8 chipset for smoother performance. Cooling is handled by a 6,700 mm² vapor chamber, ensuring the phone stays cool under heavy use.
Its 6.9-inch AMOLED display supports 1.5K resolution, 3,500 nits peak brightness, and an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate. Slim bezels frame the screen, which also features an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner.
Photography is a highlight on the Ultra. The triple rear camera setup includes a 50MP Light Fusion 950 sensor with OIS and a 1/1.31-inch sensor size. A 50MP periscope telephoto lens offers 5x optical zoom, while a 50MP ultrawide completes the setup. A 32MP front camera handles selfies.
Audio enthusiasts will appreciate the rear-mounted woofer, which complements dual speakers to deliver a 2.1 sound setup. Bose collaborated with Poco to fine-tune the F8 series’ audio performance.
Powering the device is a 6,500mAh battery supporting 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. The F8 Ultra runs Android 16-based HyperOS 3, featuring AI enhancements and Google Gemini integration. Poco promises four years of major updates and six years of security patches.
The phone also includes an IP68 rating, a metal frame, and eSIM support. It will be available in Denim Blue and Black, with pricing starting at €649/$679/£549 for the 12GB/256GB model. The 16GB/512GB variant is priced at €699/$729/£599 during the early bird promotion, with the standard MSRP reaching £749/$729/€830 and £800/$799/€900 for the higher-end model.
The Poco F8 Pro offers slightly different hardware, featuring the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC and the 3D triple-layer IceLoop cooling system. Its 6.59-inch AMOLED LTPS display supports FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone has a glass rear with a matte finish and a metal frame.
Photography on the F8 Pro includes a 50MP Light Fusion 800 primary sensor with OIS, a 50MP telephoto lens with 2.5x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultrawide lens. A 20MP front camera handles selfies.
Battery life comes from a 6,210mAh cell with 100W fast charging support. Additional features mirror the Ultra, including IP68 certification, Bose-tuned audio, ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, eSIM support, and HyperOS 3 with four years of major updates.
The F8 Pro is offered in Black, Blue, and Titanium Silver, with early bird pricing starting at €469/$529 for the 12GB/256GB variant. The 12GB/512GB model costs €499/$579/£449, and prices rise after the promotion.
