YouTube is rolling out powerful new tools designed to make creator engagement smoother and extend the life of live content. The platform’s latest update introduces reply filters and automatic Shorts generation from live broadcasts, allowing creators to stay on top of audience conversations while boosting content visibility.
Creators can now filter video responses using the new “New replies to your response” option or sort comments by “Newest.” This feature prevents replies to creator comments from getting lost in long threads. These preferences can even be saved as default in the YouTube Studio mobile app, finally giving mobile creators the same control desktop users have enjoyed for months.
Once a live stream ends, YouTube will automatically identify highlight moments and present them as suggested Shorts. Creators can preview, edit, and publish these clips, making it easier to repurpose standout moments into bite-sized content that can drive fresh engagement. This feature aims to help creators reach viewers who may have missed the live broadcast entirely.
YouTube is also refining search functionality for viewers on Connected TVs. Searches initiated from a channel page will now surface results specifically from that channel, helping fans find videos faster without wading through unrelated content.
