YouTube TV Compensates Users with $20 Credit Over Disney Channel Shutdown

YouTube TV is offering subscribers a $20 credit amid its ongoing dispute with Disney, which has led to several popular channels going offline. The blackout includes major networks such as ESPN, ABC News, and Disney Channel.

In an email sent to users, the YouTube TV team confirmed that subscribers will soon receive details on how to redeem the $20 credit. Once redeemed, the amount will be applied to their next billing cycle.

“We know it’s been disappointing to lose Disney content, and we want you to know we deeply appreciate your patience,” the company wrote.

YouTube TV and Disney had until October 30 to finalize a new agreement for Disney-owned channels, but the deadline passed without a deal. Negotiations are still ongoing, according to the company.

The streaming service said it continues to work “in good faith” to reach a fair deal that compensates Disney appropriately and restores its channels on YouTube TV.

For users who find the credit insufficient, YouTube TV reminded subscribers that they can pause their accounts until the dispute is resolved.
