Zoom Communications experienced a major global outage on April 16, disrupting access to its website, video calls, and application for thousands of users worldwide. The issue impacted users across the United States and several other countries, prompting a surge in complaints.
According to outage tracking site Downdetector.com, reports peaked at 67,280 user-submitted issues by 3:01 p.m. ET. The widespread service disruption affected both personal and professional communications, with users turning to social media for updates.
Zoom responded on X (formerly Twitter), confirming, “Service has now been restored after the earlier outage.”
