The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has informed the public that its Device Identification Registration & Blocking System (DIRBS) will be temporarily unavailable during scheduled maintenance by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) from 10:00 PM PKST on Saturday, 6 December until Sunday evening, 7 December 2025.
The DIRBS platform handles mobile device registration and blocking; during this maintenance window, users will not be able to register new devices or complete related services. Individuals who need urgent device registration are advised to complete it before the maintenance begins. PTA has asked for public patience and cooperation while the system upgrade is underway.
DIRBS operated by PTA in coordination with FBR is the official system for regulating device registration in Pakistan and ensuring compliance with duty and import regulations. Temporary suspensions during prior maintenance windows have been announced before to maintain system integrity and performance.
