NTISB Issues Warning on Cyberattacks via ChatGPT, Gemini, VPN Browser Extensions

The National Telecom and Information Technology Security Board (NTISB) has issued a warning about a new wave of cyberattacks that are using unconventional approaches, after a quick increase in reported cyberattacks.

According to the NTISB notice, notorious hackers have begun targeting individuals by breaking into their devices and collecting sensitive information.

The warning specifies that VPNs, ChatGPT, and Gemini browser extensions pose the greatest threat, according to the sources. The warning mentioned several well-known websites, including Facebook and other Pakistani financial services, in addition to browser extensions.

The advisory highlighted 16 common extensions as being particularly vulnerable to hackers’ new efforts, which could lead to data theft and other damaging incursions.
