Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Durability Test Raises Concerns Over Build Quality

Samsung has officially unveiled its highly anticipated Galaxy S25 Ultra, bringing some external design tweaks and major internal performance upgrades. However, the Galaxy S25 Ultra durability test has raised concerns about its build quality. Despite being an “S” year upgrade, the device shows noticeable compromises in durability, including removable camera rings that seem to be more of an aesthetic choice than a functional one.

A recent Galaxy S25 Ultra durability test by JerryRigEverything on YouTube highlights several shortcomings compared to its predecessor. The device lacks Bluetooth in the S Pen, and its display is more prone to scratches. Unlike the Galaxy S24 Ultra, which offered impressive scratch resistance, the latest model performs worse in this area. Tests reveal that the glass scratches at level 6, with deeper grooves appearing at level 7.

The downgrade in scratch resistance suggests Samsung may have reduced the hardness of Gorilla Armor 2. It remains unclear whether this change was intentional or a trade-off for other improvements. Many users who appreciated the scratch resistance of the Galaxy S24 Ultra might find this disappointing.

Build Quality Compromises in the Galaxy S25 Ultra

Samsung’s attention to detail has also come into question due to the misaligned logo on the back of the Galaxy S25 Ultra. While this does not affect performance, it raises doubts about overall quality control. It is yet to be confirmed if this issue is widespread or specific to certain units.

Another noticeable downgrade is the removal of Bluetooth from the S Pen. This change limits functionality, eliminating features like using the S Pen as a remote shutter button for the camera. Some speculate that Samsung wants to push the Galaxy Ring as an alternative, but the company has not confirmed this.

Removable Camera Rings Pose Durability Issues

One of the biggest concerns from the Galaxy S25 Ultra durability test is the detaching camera rings. The test shows that these rings, though glued to the surface, can be pried off easily with a sharp tool. This design flaw may allow dust and debris to collect underneath, affecting long-term durability.

Despite these compromises, the Galaxy S25 Ultra offers significant performance upgrades, including the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Elite chip and new Galaxy AI features. While it excels in power and software, its durability concerns might make some users reconsider upgrading.
