Rawalpindi Introduces Dedicated Green Lane for Motorcyclists

Following Lahore’s example, Rawalpindi has introduced a specialized Green Lane for motorcyclists, an initiative spearheaded by the City Traffic Police (CTP) to streamline traffic and minimize road mishaps.

CTP Rawalpindi’s Chief Traffic Officer (CTO), Banash Fatima, underscored the significance of this project, emphasizing its role in ensuring smoother traffic movement and providing bikers with a designated, safer path. She urged citizens to adhere to traffic laws and make proper use of the Green Lane to help the initiative succeed.

The CTP also released an advisory instructing motorcyclists to refrain from abrupt lane changes and reckless overtaking, warning that violations would lead to strict legal consequences.

Reaffirming the department’s commitment to road safety, CTO Banash Fatima assured that proactive measures were being taken to safeguard commuters. She called on the public to cooperate in fostering a more orderly and secure traffic system.

With this initiative, Rawalpindi aims to curb accident rates and provide a safer commuting experience for motorcyclists.
