Ubisoft Stuns Fans With Free Assassins Creed Mirage Dlc

Ubisoft just dropped a surprise: “Valley of Memory”, a new DLC for Assassin’s Creed Mirage. It’s free, and it’s coming soon.

They teased it with a short trailer on Sunday. The clip shows Basim and Dervis climbing out of a deep valley, then gazing out toward a massive structure rising from the desert. It’s mysterious and atmospheric. No further details about gameplay or exact mechanics have been revealed yet.

Release Time Announced by Ubisoft

The main reveal is scheduled for 9 PM Pakistan Standard Time (PKT), and Ubisoft plans to unveil more detailed information. Until then, the teaser is our only hint.

This DLC arrives almost two years after Mirage’s release in 2023. For a while, Ubisoft had said they were done releasing post-launch content for this game. Now, they’re flipping that. They might even make some gameplay changes now that they are at it. They may also use this DLC as an opportunity to experiment with some new content.

Valley of Memory” seems to build on the stories of Basim and The Hidden Ones, though Ubisoft hasn’t confirmed specifics yet. Given what we’ve seen so far, expect new environments, possibly ruins or desert expanses.

Interestingly, the DLC is rumored to be tied to the Al-Ula region in Saudi Arabia, the same place Ubisoft previously mentioned in its 2025 content plans. This suggests “Valley of Memory” might not just expand Baghdad but take players somewhere entirely new.

All signs point to a bold move, Ubisoft giving Mirage a fresh chapter when many thought its era was over. The free price tag makes it even more intriguing. Stay tuned tonight to see where this memory leads.

Previous Standings

On Metacritic, Assassin’s Creed Mirage holds a 76/100 score based on around 96 critic reviews. User ratings paint a mixed picture, averaging 7.0 out of 10. Players praised its stealth mechanics, detailed setting, and immersive atmosphere. However, many criticized its shallow storytelling and limited character depth. Within the mainline Assassin’s Creed series, Mirage sits on the lower end of critic scores—ranking above only a few titles like Syndicate, Unity, and Rogue.

By January 2024, the game had attracted over 5 million players worldwide and earned roughly US$250 million in revenue. In Japan, the PS5 version sold 20,407 physical copies in its first week, ranking as the third best-selling retail game during that period.

The “5 million players / US$250 million” milestone doesn’t confirm five million copies sold. It likely includes players who accessed the game through subscription services, free trials, or promotional offers. Compared to massive releases like Valhalla and Odyssey, Mirage sold fewer units but operated with a smaller budget and a tighter focus. Ubisoft deliberately designed it as a “return to basics” experience—favoring classic stealth and compact storytelling over the sprawling RPG format of its recent predecessors.
