South Korea Doubles Job Quota for Skilled Pakistani Workers in 2025
South Korea has doubled Pakistan’s labor quota for 2025, opening new employment opportunities for skilled Pakistani workers under the Employment Permit System (EPS). The quota has been raised from 2,400 workers in 2024 to 5,400 for 2025, reflecting South Korea’s confidence in the skills and professionalism of Pakistani labor.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the increase follows successful negotiations between Pakistan and South Korea’s Human Resource Development (HRD) Mission aimed at strengthening bilateral labor cooperation.
Officials stated that the decision shows
“South Korea’s trust in the discipline, productivity, and contribution of Pakistani workers currently employed under the EPS program.”
EPS Quota Comparison
| Year | Labor Quota | Increase |
| 2024 | 2,400 workers | 1500+ |
| 2025 | 5,400 workers | +3,000 |
Under the EPS framework, Pakistani workers can apply for jobs in manufacturing, agriculture, and construction after passing the EPS-TOPIK (Korean language proficiency test) and a skills assessment. The Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC) manages the recruitment and ensures compliance with South Korean labor laws.
Authorities emphasized that continued cooperation with the HRD Mission will further expand overseas employment opportunities and strengthen Pakistan’s foreign workforce presence in East Asia.
