Punjab to Release Salaries and Pensions Early Ahead of November Holidays

In a welcome move for government employees and pensioners, the Government of Punjab has announced that salaries and pensions will be released early, on Friday, October 31, 2025, ahead of the upcoming weekend holidays.

According to a notification issued by the Punjab Finance Department, the decision was made because November 1 and 2 fall on Saturday and Sunday, which are gazetted holidays. The early release ensures that all government employees and pensioners receive their pay and allowances on time without delays.

The notification, signed by Mr. Muhammad Younas, Section Officer (FR), directed the Accountant General Punjab and all District Accounts Officers to complete the payment process before the stated date. It was also circulated to administrative secretaries, commissioners, deputy commissioners, and heads of departments across the province.

A Punjab Finance Department official said,

“The move reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring timely financial relief for employees and retirees, especially ahead of the weekend holidays.”

Copies of the circular were also sent to the Registrar of the Lahore High Court, District and Sessions Judges, and senior officials in the Governor’s and Chief Minister’s offices for immediate compliance.
