Karachi Imposes Rs20,000 Fine for Driving Without License
⊆The Karachi Traffic Police have launched a strict enforcement campaign, announcing a massive Rs. 20,000 fine for anyone caught driving without a valid licence. The move, directed by DIG Traffic Police, aims to strengthen road safety and ensure compliance with traffic regulations across the city.
Officials reported that within the last 24 hours alone, over 4,000 e-challans were issued for various violations. The majority 2,737 challans were for not wearing seat belts, followed by 812 for helmetless riding, 116 for overspeeding, and 169 for jumping red signals.

DIG Traffic emphasized that the e-challaning system has been fully activated not to penalize citizens, but to promote safe and responsible driving habits.
“No one is exempted from following the rules,” he said, adding that the speed limit across Karachi remains 60 km/h for all vehicles.
The crackdown is part of the city’s broader initiative to modernize traffic management and curb reckless driving through digital monitoring. Authorities believe the new measures will significantly reduce road accidents and encourage drivers to regularize their documents.
Traffic police officials also urged motorists to obtain learner permits or renew expired licences immediately, warning that repeat offenders could face even stricter penalties in the coming weeks.
