Bank Alfalah has pledged an additional PKR 1.4 billion (USD 5 million) to rebuild flood-affected communities across Pakistan, reaffirming its commitment to long-term climate resilience and humanitarian support.
The announcement, made by Atif Bajwa, President and CEO of Bank Alfalah, highlights the bank’s expanded relief efforts following the 2025 floods. This brings the total contribution to USD 15 million since the 2022 disaster.
“At Bank Alfalah, we aspire to be more than a financial institution; we are a caring bank,” said Atif Bajwa. “This pledge reflects our belief in rebuilding lives and fostering a sustainable Pakistan.”
While talking to TechJuice, Atif Bajwa confirmed that the restructuring pledge would be focused on Construction, Education, Livelihood, Health. The funds will be directed through partner organizations to restore housing, education, health, and climate-smart agriculture in affected regions. The initiative builds on earlier relief work with groups like Akhuwat, The Citizens Foundation, and Aga Khan Development Network, which have supported homes, schools, and essential services.
According to UNICEF, the 2025 floods have displaced over 1.5 million people and claimed 946 lives, including 255 children. Bank Alfalah’s ongoing aid reinforces the strong UAE–Pakistan partnership and showcases the bank’s leadership in corporate social responsibility (CSR).
