Oneplus 15r

OnePlus is set to fully unveil the OnePlus 15R on December 17, but the company is no longer keeping many secrets. After weeks of teasers, OnePlus has now confirmed another key upgrade, this time focused on the front camera.

The company says the OnePlus 15R features the best selfie camera ever used in its R series lineup. While that claim sets a modest benchmark, the hardware improvements are still notable for this segment.

The OnePlus 15R comes with a 32MP front camera, doubling the resolution of the 13R’s 16MP sensor. More importantly, the selfie camera includes autofocus. This feature is still rare outside flagship phones and marks a meaningful step forward for the R series.

Video also gets a solid boost. The OnePlus 15R can record 4K video at 30fps using its front camera. That is a clear upgrade over the 1080p limit on the previous model. OnePlus has also confirmed that the phone uses the same DetailMax Engine found in the OnePlus 15.

Beyond the camera, the OnePlus 15R packs flagship-level internals. It runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC and features a 165Hz AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution. Powering everything is a large 7,400 mAh battery, positioning the device as a performance-focused option ahead of its official launch.

With most major details already public, the December 17 event now looks more like a formality. Still, the OnePlus 15R shapes up as a strong upgrade for users seeking speed, display quality, and better front-facing cameras.
