Rda To Introduce Online Property Registration And Transfer System

The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) is set to modernize property management by introducing a digital system for online property registration, transfers, and building plan approvals.

Officials said the initiative aims to streamline regulatory processes, improve transparency, and provide faster services for both housing schemes and citizens.

During a recent meeting chaired by Additional Director General Muhammad Anwar Baran, the authority reviewed technology-driven measures to simplify property-related procedures. Hafiz Abdul Ghafoor from the Punjab Land Records Authority briefed participants on the proposed system, highlighting its potential to enhance efficiency and service delivery.

The new digital framework will allow housing schemes to be integrated into an online portal, which already has functional prototypes. Secure property transactions and transfers will be processed through the dedicated Property Transfer System.

The RDA spokesperson explained that building plan approvals will also be handled online to ensure accountability and adherence to time limits. The Property Transfer System is scheduled to officially launch on February 15, after which the manual process will be gradually phased out.

Citizens will benefit from the system by submitting applications online, receiving faster approvals and no-objection certificates, and experiencing reduced human intervention. Additionally, the digital framework is expected to support better marketing and sales processes within the real estate sector.
