Elden Ring Nightreign just got a lifeline. FromSoftware released Update 1.03.2 yesterday, January 15, and it targets the game’s biggest pain points. Following the Forsaken Hollows expansion in late 2025, the community made it clear that some classes were simply too weak. FromSoftware listened. This update delivers sweeping buffs to underperforming Nightfarers, adjusts Relics, and fixes critical bugs.
Nightfarers Finally Get the Power They Need
The “Executor” is the undisputed winner of this patch. Previously considered one of the toughest classes to play, it received a total overhaul. The “Cursed Sword” skill now boasts increased critical hit power, better stagger damage, and improved Guard Boost. Furthermore, running out of stamina during a successful deflection no longer triggers a guard break.
The buffs don’t stop there. The Executor’s Ultimate Art, “Aspects of the Crucible: Beast”, now includes a survival mechanic. You cannot become critically wounded during the transformation skill… if your HP hits zero, you survive with 1 HP.
The “Raider” also sees major improvements. Traditionally slow, this class now enjoys faster attack speeds and adjusted movement distances for heavy weapons like “Greataxes”. The “Fighter’s Resolve” passive now boosts attack power when your HP drops significantly.
Additionally, the “Guardian” and “Revenant” received targeted buffs. Guardians now have better damage negation against physical and elemental attacks. Meanwhile, Revenants see a damage boost for their summoned spirits, especially in the “Deep of Night” mode.
Relics, Magic & World Adjustments
FromSoftware tweaked the gear and magic meta extensively. Most Relics received power boosts. For example, Relics that recover HP or generate shockwaves upon guarding are now more potent. However, it isn’t all good news. The developers nerfed the “Successive Attacks Boost Attack Power” effect. They also fixed a bug where bow damage was unintentionally high, reducing the effect of “Improved Bow Attack Power”.
Magic users must manage their resources better. The “Shattering Crystal” sorcery and “Beast Claw” incantation now consume more FP. On the bright side, the “Rotten Crystal Staff” now correctly uses “Crystal Release” as its primary sorcery.
Exploration is more rewarding. The “Marsh” and “Blacksmith Village” areas now offer more runes and a higher probability of rare items in treasure chests. However, beware of the Marsh… Night Invader spawn rates have increased during cataclysms.
Critical Bug Fixes in Elden Ring Nightreign
This patch cleans up a messy technical state. Players previously lost DLC costumes for the Scholar and Undertaker… these can now be re-acquired at the “Roundtable Hold”. Combat bugs were also addressed. The Raider’s “Retaliate” skill now reliably staggers enemies, and the “Night’s Cavalry” boss will properly flinch from attacks.
Perhaps most importantly, a massive list of Weapon Arts, including “Waves of Darkness” and “Eruption”, now correctly benefit from “Improved Skill Attack Power” effects. Before this, players were losing out on damage they should have had.
The community reaction is already positive. These changes fundamentally shake up the meta and make the legacy classes viable again alongside the newer DLC additions. Jump back in and test the new power limits.
