The Safe Cities Authority Lahore has rolled out special security measures to ensure public safety during Basant, deploying a network of drones and surveillance cameras across the city.
Officials said 30 advanced surveillance cameras have been installed at key locations, while five drones per city division, covering all six divisions- will monitor activities throughout the festival.
Equipped with night-vision technology, the drones will remain operational for the entire three-day duration of Basant, allowing authorities to track incidents even after sunset. The Lahore Police will use this surveillance to identify violations and maintain law and order.
Safe Cities staff have been assigned to work in three shifts to ensure continuous monitoring, and citizens are urged to report violations through the police helpline, 15. All surveillance tools will support the strict enforcement of government-issued SOPs for Basant, aimed at keeping celebrations safe and orderly.
