Punjab Police is set to expand its Crime Control Department (CCD) with the recruitment of 1,000 personnel, a move aimed at strengthening law enforcement and enhancing public safety across the province.
According to officials, the Home Department has received a summary prepared by the Punjab Police regarding the planned recruitment drive. The positions to be filled include constables and driver constables, with the proposal now pending approval from the Chief Minister of Punjab.
The initiative reflects the provincial government’s ongoing efforts to modernize the police force and ensure timely and effective crime response. Sources within the department said that the recruitment drive would prioritize qualified candidates and would follow transparent procedures.
The expansion of the CCD comes at a time when Punjab is also implementing several other public safety and development measures, including job creation in various sectors. Observers say this move could not only enhance security but also generate employment opportunities for thousands of youth in the province.
The Home Department is expected to finalize the approval process shortly, after which the recruitment process will begin with public notifications regarding eligibility criteria, application procedure, and selection process. Officials emphasized that the new recruits would undergo rigorous training to handle complex crime situations and assist in maintaining law and order effectively.
