Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has announced a comprehensive electricity supply schedule to ensure uninterrupted power during the three-day Basant festival. LESCO Chief Muhammad Ramzan Butt confirmed that all arrangements have been made to maintain electricity supply while safeguarding power infrastructure amid the festival celebrations.
Speaking to City 42, Muhammad Ramzan Butt urged residents to avoid using metallic kite strings, highlighting that safety remains a top priority. He also mentioned that he would personally join citizens in Lahore’s inner areas to celebrate Basant.
Basant, a traditional kite-flying festival celebrated in Punjab, often puts a high demand on the city’s electricity network and increases safety risks. LESCO’s preparations include monitoring high-load areas, deploying rapid-response teams, and ensuring power lines are secure from festival-related hazards.
With these measures, residents can enjoy the vibrant festivities of Basant without disruption to their electricity services, reflecting LESCO’s commitment to public convenience and safety.
