Mari Energies Limited has taken a major step toward strengthening Pakistan’s mining ecosystem by announcing the establishment of a state-of-the-art mineral assay laboratory through its subsidiary, Mari Minerals (Private) Limited. The facility will be developed in partnership with Canada-based MSALABS Limited and will provide internationally certified mineral testing services within Pakistan.
According to the company’s announcement, Mari Minerals and MSALABS will form a new project company with equal shareholding, subject to corporate, regulatory, and government approvals. The planned laboratory will offer ISO-certified, full-spectrum mineral testing services, ranging from sample preparation to advanced assaying techniques.
A company official stated, “This collaboration will enable globally recognized mineral testing standards to be available locally, supporting Pakistan’s growing mining and exploration sector.”
At present, many local mining and exploration firms rely on overseas laboratories for mineral analysis, which increases costs and turnaround time. The new facility is expected to significantly reduce dependence on foreign labs, improve data reliability, and accelerate exploration activity across the country.
Industry experts believe the project could help position Pakistan as a regional hub for mineral testing, attract foreign investment, and generate skilled employment opportunities, particularly in geology, metallurgy, and laboratory sciences.
Pakistan possesses vast untapped mineral resources, including copper, gold, rare earth elements, and industrial minerals. The launch of an advanced, internationally accredited assay lab aligns with national efforts to modernize the mining sector and promote sustainable resource development through improved infrastructure and technical capacity.
