The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) concluded its first-ever Bug Bounty Challenge 2026 at NADRA Headquarters in Islamabad, marking a milestone in strengthening Pakistan’s digital identity systems.
Launched in January 2026 under the “Uraan Pakistan” initiative, the challenge engaged 88 participants from 27 teams across leading universities, including GIKI Swabi, NUST Islamabad, UET Lahore, and NED Karachi. A total of 27 partner universities took part nationwide, promoting responsible vulnerability identification and advanced security assessment.
The UET Lahore Faisalabad Campus team secured first place, while Pak-Austria Fachhochschule Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology won second. Consolation prizes were awarded to teams from Mehran University Jamshoro and International Islamic University Islamabad.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Monis Akhlaq, Chief Information Security Officer of NADRA, highlighted that the challenge fosters a new approach to engaging cybersecurity talent. He emphasized that the initiative built confidence, capability, and a sense of national responsibility among emerging cybersecurity professionals.
