Authorities in Bahrain have arrested six Asian nationals, including five Pakistanis, for allegedly producing and sharing social media videos related to the reported impact of Iranian attacks, according to diplomatic sources.
The arrests were carried out by the Bahrain Anti-Cybercrime Directorate, under the supervision of the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security. Officials stated that the videos, which depicted the effects of alleged aggression, were circulated online and reportedly misled public opinion, causing fear and panic among citizens.
The five Pakistani nationals arrested are Abdul Rahman Abdul Sattar, Arsalan Ali Sajid, Muhammad Moez Akbar, Ahmed Mumtaz, and Muhammed Khan. The sixth suspect, a Bangladeshi national, was identified as Muhammad Israfil Mir.
Authorities described the content as sympathetic to hostile acts, noting it posed a risk to national security and public order. Following the arrests, legal formalities were completed, and the suspects have been handed over to the public prosecution for further proceedings.
