Multan Sultans secured a commanding seven-wicket victory over Rawalpindiz in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 match after successfully chasing a target of 183 runs.
The former champions reached the target in 16.4 overs, losing three wickets, and maintained their position at the top of the points table.
Farhan and Philippe lead recovery
The chase began with an early setback as Mohammad Amir dismissed inform batter Steve Smith for five runs in the second over of the innings with only 12 runs scored.
Pakistani opener Sahibzada Farhan and Josh Philippe then stabilised the innings, adding 110 runs for the second wicket and shifting momentum with aggressive strokeplay.
Philippe scored a fighting innings of 56 runs from 30 balls, including six fours and three sixes, before being dismissed by Mohammad Amir in the 12th over.
Farhan top-scored with 68 runs off 36 deliveries to bring Multan Sultans close to victory, hitting five sixes and four fours, before being bowled by Mohammad Amir Khan.
Turner and Masood finish chase
After consecutive wickets, Ashton Turner and Shan Masood built an unbeaten 47-run partnership to guide Multan Sultans to victory in the 17th over.
The left-handed batter remained not out on 27 runs from 15 balls, while Turner contributed an unbeaten 26 runs from 10 deliveries.
Mohammad Amir was the most successful bowler for Rawalpindiz, taking two wickets for 32 runs, while Mohammad Amir Khan claimed one wicket.
Pindiz post competitive total
Earlier in the match, Rawalpindiz, who now lost four consecutive matches, posted 182 for eight in 20 overs after being put in to bat, despite a four-wicket haul from Faisal Akram.
The Mohammad Rizwan-led side started the innings poorly as Yasir Khan was dismissed for five runs in the third over with only 15 runs on the scoreboard.
Mohammad Rizwan and Kamran Ghulam added 33 runs for the second wicket before the wicket-keeper batter was dismissed for 19 runs in sixth over.
Ghulam scored 35 runs from 24 balls, including three fours and two sixes, before being dismissed by Faisal Akram in 10th over of the first innings.
Billings provides late acceleration
Sam Billings scored an unbeaten 56 runs off 34 deliveries, including seven fours and one six, to provide momentum during the final overs.
He also shared a 33-run partnership with Dian Forrester, who scored 24 runs from 11 balls with three sixes.
Faisal Akram led the bowling attack with four wickets for 31 runs, while Arafat Minhas took two wickets in the innings.
